AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final clash against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
